Progress Estate.

1915
Originally named Well Hall Estate. To house senior and skilled Woolwich Arsenal workers. Well Hall Road, SE9. Linked Woolwich to the north and Eltham in the South. As part of the LCC tram way system.

1925
The Royal Arsenal Cooperative Society (RACS) bought the 1250-home Royal Arsenal workers estate at Well Hall  from the Government, which it then renamed the Progress Estate. 

1975
Became a conservation area, granted because of its unique architectural character.
