Kynoch (Coryton Refinery) site in Corringham.



Female workers at the Kynoch explosives factory.

The factory was critical to the production of explosives during the First World War, so much so, a small town along with its own railway line were developed nearby.

Only black and white photographs remain of the original uniforms so the volunteer dressmaker would need to improvise with fabrics and design with a small budget. If you think you can help, please contact Diane Lee on …
