GeorgeE DEWSNAP. He was a superintendent at the Royal Ordinance Factory in Patricroft, Greater Manchester, England.

After the Shell factory in Woolwich was closed, George had the gates commisioned to be installed at Patricroft.

Following the closure of Patricroft, the gates were reinstalled back at the Woolwich Shell Foundry.

[His grandson is asking for any information on him]

Update

 

Changed name of Blogger to include Woolwich Garrison ( Military Hospitals, St Georges Church, Royal Military Academy, Old Woolwich Dockyard, Repository, ) As well still the Royal Arsenal and suppliers, satellite buildings in and around Woolwich (Plumstead), London area.

Miss Lilian Barker and a group of women war workers from the 'danger buildings' at Royal Arsenal. Miss Barker is the 'Lady Superintendant'. With women workers in the TNT Department, Quick Firing Cartridge Factory No. 4.

To be an Additional Dame Commander of the Civil Division of the said Most Excellent Order:  Miss Lilian Charlotte Barker, C.B.E., J.P. 

For services in connection with the welfare of women and girls {London Gazette 1944.06.08
